EA Holiday event
16 12 2007This past Saturday, my wife who works for EA had their Holiday Event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium after a couple of years on the EA campus in Redwood Shores. They featured an excellent band, Grooveline, which did a great job of performing songs to the 70’s-80’s Shake Your Groove Thing theme. As usual, good food stations scattered through-out though we found the Hamachi sushi rolls too late.

1st week with my iPhone…
13 12 2007It’s been a week now with my new iPhone. I knew going in that there were some things I thought it should have but as I tell many people about tech-you see how “compatiable you are and then you’ll learn to live with the other’s faults/habits. I do think it’s cool like everyone else. One of the biggest features I do is to check traffic before I leave on both commutes. The ability to look up a business on the web and click on the phone number is remarkable (especially since there’s no copy/paste). So summing it up for now…
Likes:
- gorgeous big screen
- adequate surfing speeds (I prefer mobile version of sites) anywhere
- pretty good timer
Wish list:
- global search on info
- copy/paste (though I’m not sure how’d they could do it with the touch interface. Highlight and then press and hold?)
- hide unused apps from the springboard/desktop. (Apple-it’s perfect the way it is. Don’t change it)
- better access to bluetooth on/off (3 taps from springboard)
- memory card slot would be nice
- ability to categorize contacts,notes
- sort notes by date or name in addition to above
- separate app to store private data in addition to locking the phone
- back up all data to computer
- multiple alarms with multiple days. OK, I found you can have multiple separate alarms but each still is tied to a day (ie: every sunday)

I found them!
1 12 2007Last May after a trip to Vegas, I put my wide-angle lens adapter and battery charger some place “safe” for the next time I needed them. Needless to say, I’ve been looking for them since! This morning when I drop my cell under the bed, I noticed the case for my laptop looked thick. Upon further investigation, I found the missing items from last May!
