On our way out to weekly sushi, we drove by a Shell station and its’ regular gas was priced at $3.29! Now I had just filled up a couple days before and haven’t been watching but I couldn’t imagine that much of a jump! Two blocks later, I passed a Chevron and its’ regular was $2.49. Wow, 80 cents in two blocks! Is Shell that much better? It doesn’t even have that Techron or those cute Chevroncars!
gift giving…
24 11 2006For the past few years I’ve been donating my gift (or value of) in the form of toys to the local fire department to be distributed to local kids. After reading about a local woman’s plight in the SF Chronicle’s Season of Sharing, I decide to donate this year’s $50 to that fund. Though I can usually can get 2-3 toys and I’m sure that would make some kids happy, I thought that in this way, a family could be helped better if only for a short time. Sure it’s a fairly small amount but it be of better use to someone else and I wouldn’t miss it.
